Off-duty Police Officer

What is an off duty officer ?

In short, off-duty police service is when a business or individual hires sworn police officers, outside their normal shifts, to provide a higher level of security presence and law enforcement authority than private security typically can not.

  • Sworn police officers (those with full law enforcement authority) work outside of their regular duty hours.

  • They are paid by Roze Security, but they still retain their police powers (ability to enforce laws, make arrests, etc.).

Common Uses of Off-Duty Police

  • Event security (concerts, festivals, parades, sporting events).

  • Private property protection (apartment complexes, malls, construction sites, hospitals).

  • VIP or executive protection in certain cases.

Benefits of Off-Duty Police Service

  • Higher deterrence value because of the officer’s authority and training.

  • Rapid response if a crime or emergency occurs.

  • Professionalism since officers are trained in de-escalation, law, and use of force.
